What Type Of Confidence Do You Have?

We've all heard about confidence, and of course, most of us have had experience at one point or another with confidence but did you know that there are four types of confidence?

I am sharing with you the four different types of confidence, why you need to know what they are and which one is the best type of confidence to get somewhere you want.

Unwarranted Confidence

The first type of positive I'm speaking about is unwarranted.

Unwarranted is the kind of confidence you want to stay away from. It comes from overestimating your abilities to do a task or underestimating the actual functions and paint.

Instead of calling it unwarranted, most people call it cocky, arrogant.

This type of confidence is not suitable because it puts you in the mindset that you can do everything without training, know-how, skill, or talent.

It is terrible when someone in a position of power has this type of confidence because they will bring down a company or a business without second thoughts, simply because they do not know what they need to do and they do not understand how they need to do these things.

Pasted On Confidence

The second type of confidence I'm going to discuss is pasted on competence.

When we think of something pasted on, it's simply just on the surface. It only is geared to the surface of whatever you're pasting it on.

So pasted on confidence, it is only surface deep. Now you're probably wondering how confidence can only be surface deep?

Let me explain. I know most of us have probably heard of affirmations, and we've seen videos of people stating affirmations and telling other people to speak them daily in a mirror and things like that.

Well, this is an example of pasted on confidence. I am not saying the affirmations are pasted on but repeating them just to say them and not connecting to the declaration.

So when you say the affirmation, I am beautiful. I am loving, but you don't believe it. It's only suitable for the surface.

It's only good at that particular moment. It doesn't embed itself in who you are. It doesn't feel like yourself. It doesn't connect to your inner thoughts and your inner being.

So like I said, pasted on confidence is only surface deep.

Once you get down into your deeper self, the inner self, you'll realize, Hey, I don't feel that way.

It's not good to have this type of confidence, but it is a stepping stone to gaining true confidence.

If you learn the proper techniques to connect with the things you aren't saying, it's like fake it till you make it, but you fake it so much that you don't even begin to make it.

Already Done It Confidence

The third type of confidence is I've already done it before confidence.

I've already done it is when you've done something, and you know how to do it.

The more you repeat it, the better you get at it.

This is the type of confidence where you are put in a situation and you mastered it one time, and any time after that because you knew what you needed to do and not because you actually did it.

You memorized the steps required to perform what you needed to complete. Now, most people may think this type of confidence is the best type of confidence, and it's the most authentic type of confidence, but it is not because it does not help you grow.  It is just you using memory muscles to perform the task repeatedly. It does not expound on knowledge.

So what is the last type of confidence that we need?

Effort Leads To Results

The last type of confidence that we need to have is that effort leads to results confidence, and is just what it says; it says effort leads to results.

The confidence that we gain when we want something and put in the work continues to get what we want.

This is the type of confidence that helps us grow and allows us to expand.

Effort leads to results is a type of confidence that gives us valuable knowledge in the current situation and other situations.

The I've already done confidence kind of looks similar, but if you get down to it, effort leads to results is a form of manifestation, but it does not just believe that you can do it you actually do it.

It's putting in the work to get these things done and that is the best type of confidence that anyone can have because you know it will always lead to results.

Being confident in the things you have done is a good thing because you have the results. You can prove that you started here and worked your way there.

And that's what we want to do while we are on these self-improvement journeys to find our life purpose. We want to be able to measure our progress. We want to be able to say even if it's just to remind yourself, "Hey, I started at point A where I may not have been as confident. I may not have known X, Y, or Z, but now I'm at point B."

The type of confidence that you choose to have is all up to you.

Suppose you asked me as a mentor or a coach what is the best type of confidence.

In that case, I'm going to say, let's go after that effort leads to results confidence because it's not surface deep it's embedded in you.

You will be able to repeat that confidence in every room you walk into, on every job you have in every situation that may arise.

All we need is a little confidence. What type do you have?
