Most of us have at some point or another remained in a situation way longer than what we should have.

There are many reasons for staying in situations longer than we should one of them being we do not realize it is time to move on.

Learning to recognize the signs of when it’s time to move on can save you from wasting time you can never get back and losing yourself.

These tips can be used for any type of relationship not just an intimate relationship.

You’re Happy By Yourself

Most of us have all been there we dread going around because we know that just being in their presence can make us miserable.

How many of us have dreaded going to work because we no longer resonated with the job?

You feel like you want to find something different or you want to do something on your own but you don’t want to abandon the commitment you made to your job.

Well guess what, your happiness is more important than a commitment you made to something that is now making you miserable.

Think about how many other things are affected by the process of not wanting to give up on your commitments to others but you give up on the commitment to yourself.

Honor your commitment to yourself by making sure you are happy first and foremost.

Take some time to figure the things that make you unhappy and the things that make you happy. How can you incorporate more of the happy things into your life and allow yourself to move on to better things.

You Just Know Deep Down

Yes, it can be hard to explain but most of have a way of knowing it’s time to move before we actually move on.

You get the feelings that things are not like they used to be and never will be again.

We all have had those moments of knowing things without knowing why or how we know them. We know these things because of our intuition (yes we all have intuition men and women).

Listening to our intuition is the key when it comes to making sure we do things that will benefit us.

You are probably asking how I can follow my intuition.

We have a “little voice” that often tells us the best thing we should do in situations or we have a feeling in our gut. Listening to our intuition means listening to the “little voice” and what it has to say about the situation. The gut feeling you get take the time to pay attention to why you are feeling it at that exact moment. Chances are you need to pay attention to feelings and what you can do about it.

No One Knows When Its Time Except You

Let’s be honest no one can tell you when you really are ready to move on from something. Yes, there will be times when you stick around far longer than you should.

This is a constant battle that many of us have even myself. This can stem from always being the person to give to other people no matter how it makes you feel.

In the past I would make sure other people were happy before I made sure I was happy and in return I was left feeling empty.

Of course there was family and friends telling me to leave the situation because it no longer served me but I am not a person that will give up easily.

It wasn’t until I decided I wanted the best for myself no matter the situation. My happiness spills over into the other areas of my life so if I am happy I can share that with the people around me.

I believe we sometimes forget that everything we do is an extension of ourselves and how we feel about the things happening in our lives is a reflection of ourselves.

You will always know when something is no longer serving you and you will know when it is time to move on.

Stop selling yourself short just to stay stagnant and unhappy in life. Our journey awaits us but only if we are ready to give up the things holding us back.
